Volume III, Book 2: The Ride of the Grey Company is upon us, a massive Lord of the Rings Online patch that is functioning as a virtual relaunch of the game. In addition to adding loads of new content, Turbine is transforming LotRO into a hybrid subscription/free-to-play model in the hopes that this choice will draw fresh crowds to the game. The company’s even opened eight new servers for the launch — four for US and four for EU

Lineage II readies Freya update

NCsoft’s Aion and City of Heroes may get more press here in the States, but the workhorse of the Korean MMORPG maker’s worldwide stable continues to be Lineage II . The long-running fantasy title is gearing up for yet another substantial update, with the much-anticipated Freya patch scheduled to hit the public test server on July 29th.

The Daily Grind: Content contentment

The players have spoken, and they want more content. Unfortunately, those players — you, our readers, as well as the folks behind Massively — aren’t at all unified when it comes to what we actually accept as “content.” Some players don’t care if a given piece of content plays exactly like another, so long as it’s visually new and interesting and different. Others want a distinct set of lore behind every new piece of content, with the visuals and gameplay coming far later.

Digimon Battle launches, adds new content

Since then, players have been completing challenges and quests to ensure that the vil Digimon don’t take over Earth and the digital world. To celebrate the smooth launch and growing player-base, WeMade has announced that tomorrow, May 19th, they’ll be starting several contests and adding new content for players to enjoy.

Atlantica Online adds new content

NDoors Interactive has a brand new content patch for Atlantica Online , and it introduces players to a brand new storyline. The ” Call of the Wild ” patch will lead players to Coyote’s Valley, the home of the Great Bear tribe and the druids that serve as their defenders. The Great Bear tribe has lived in Coyote’s Valley for 400 years, enjoying a peaceful existence, but that’s about to change: “…a malevolent mastermind plans to unearth the powers buried deep beneath the land to leverage for his own evil gain.” Players in groups of up to eight people will fight alongside the Great Bear tribe in an attempt to stave off the invaders
