MMO Family: How soon is too soon?

Filed under: World of Warcraft , Opinion , Kids , MMO Family , Family You might recognize the pictures above and in the body of the article. The first is from a video of a baby using an iPad while still in a walker. The other is from a viral video that came out a while back showing a baby trying to interact with a magazine as if it were an iPad.

Rise and Shiny: Star Sonata

Filed under: Sci-fi , Screenshots , Bugs , Game mechanics , Previews , PvP , PvE , Opinion , Free-to-play , Casual , Humor , Rise and Shiny , Livestream I first intended to use this article as a list of things to avoid if you are an indie dev, and I was going to use Star Sonata , an indie, twitch-based space MMO, as the prime example on that list. The game works, sure, and it obviously has a playerbase that seems to enjoy itself, but I am not sure how long it might take a normal, new player to achieve the same level of happiness. I literally had to re-do this visit to the game because the first attempt was hijacked by a glitchy livestream and other issues.
