Review: Sims 3 World Adventures (Part 1) – China

This weekend I finally installed The Sims 3 World Adventures and blocked off a few days to try out this new Sim expansion. I got a taste of it when I went to the Blogger’s Day event back in September of last year and was excited to try this expansion pack

How consistency softens the grind

“Grind” is on the verge of becoming what “nerf” already is — a word thrown around so frequently and with such broad possible meaning that it’s essentially meaningless. After all, the word now gets used for any part of a game the player finds boring and repetitive, rather than the process of repeating something over and over. It’s the latter meaning that Kill Ten Rats discusses with an intersting thesis — we don’t mind a grind so much as we mind one we can’t advance without breaks

METRO 2033 Updated Hands-On

The shooter based on the Russian sci-fi novel is due soon and we’ve got a hands-on look at the game. Developers have been making video games out of movies for years, but recently, that trend has morphed a bit; they’re now making video game adaptations of books. Perhaps the best-known case is EA’s upcoming adventure game Dante’s Inferno, based on the 700-year-old poem of the same name, but it isn’t the only one.

One Shots: Towards the stars

With the recent updates to planet surface textures in preparation for Dust 514 , there are even more breathtaking views to be found in EVE Online than ever before. When you couple it with the interesting ships that can be found in New Eden, like this Amarrian ship , you can see why many pilots like to take screenshots while playing EVE Online and send them in to us
